Lindsay Lohan Moves To Ban Cameras In Court

Lindsay Lohan loves those cameras-except, of course, when she’s in court.

The actress/singer/gossip headliner is giving a deposition for girlfriend Samantha Ronson’s court case. Her lawyers have filed a motion that none of it be filmed, and that records and transcripts of the event not be admitted to public record.

Videotaping the thing would “unduly embarrass, oppress and burden her because of the private subject matter of the expected testimony and the virtual certainty that, unless access is significantly limited, the transcript and videotape of the deposition will be illegally exploited by the media,” says the court document.

Precedent is on her side

Precedent is on their side-her lawyers mentioned a similar judge order prohibiting video during Britney Spears and Keven Federline’s custody battle.

The present dispute, between Samantha Ronson and her erstwhile lawyers, is a suit by the DJ claiming that they inadequately represented her during her last suit (against a group of bloggers including Perez Hilton). Her suing-finger seems a little overzealous.

Ordered to pay Perez Hilton $85,000

Either way-she not only lost that last battle, but was also ordered to pay Perez Hilton $85,000 in court costs. Now she’s in court again, declaring that Martin Garbus, lawyer, and a pair of law firms, threatened to sue her for unpaid fees when she was in the last stages of the blogger suit.

No word on Lohan’s chances of being granted her request for camera-banning; a judge will be making the decision in November. We can’t help but agree with her-paparazzi tend to inexplicably get their hands on things.

And as far as newsworthiness goes…does the public really need to know about this deposition? I mean really.
